Professional Experience

Mark C. McIntyre is an attorney whose practice centers on estate planning, probate and estate administration, guardianship, and fiduciary litigation. He advises individuals and families on the legal structures governing wealth transfer and incapacity, including the drafting of wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. His estate work emphasizes precise documentation and procedural compliance to ensure efficient administration.

In addition to his estate and fiduciary practice, Mark possesses significant experience in business and employment law. He advises on business structures, drafts organizational documents, and negotiates commercial agreements. His public sector background involved providing legal analysis regarding the employee lifecycle, including terminations and departures, and reviewing policies for business compliance. Mark also facilitates real estate matters, including property transactions and asset transfers.

Dispute Resolution Services

As a North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission Certified Superior Court Mediator, Mark offers general mediation services to assist lawyers and parties in resolving their differences. He draws on extensive experience facilitating meetings among stakeholders and representing clients in various alternative dispute resolution settings.

Mark understands that disputes—particularly those involving families, estates, or business partnerships—often involve complex facts and sensitive dynamics. He uses his background in navigating these procedural and practical realities to help parties reach favorable outcomes and avoid the high costs of protracted litigation.

Personal Life

Mark lives in Durham, NC with his wife, Elizabeth, and his sons, Miles and Jaden. A native of Fairmont, NC, Mark has called the triangle home since the age of 18 when he began his freshman year at UNC Chapel Hill. He remained in the triangle to attend law school at North Carolina Central University and has lived and practiced law in the triangle since. When he isn't at the office, Mark enjoys spending time hiking, traveling, and improvising piano arrangements of his children's favorite songs.
