The process of closing an estate that included an invalid will isn’t as involved as one that didn’t have a will at all. However, it is still more difficult to deal with than when an estate plan is valid and complies with all state laws. A will could be deemed invalid due to a number of reasons, including not making changes to reflect updates in life, a will that is incomplete or doesn’t hold enough information, or a will that that doesn’t comply with state laws.
If you are worried that you need to make updates or changes to your will or fear that yours could be considered invalid for one reason or another contact our office. We will schedule a consultation to sit down with you and go over your entire estate plan, make changes and updates, and ensure it is valid. Our estate planning attorney in Cary NC understands that this process can be quite confusing.
Contact our attorney in Cary NC to set up a consultation to talk about your current estate plan and further discuss probate and how you might avoid it. If you don't have an estate plan in place, consider working with us to create one.
