Once the distribution has been determined, there will be a final hearing to allow individuals to dispute the decision made by the court. After, this the court will make its final decision on the distribution of assets. This is called the final distribution and accounting.
When the final decision has been made, the court will move to end the process and close the case. At that point, the case will be over.
Unfortunately, when a person dies intestate, the probate process could take months to conclude. In some cases, it can take nine months to a year or more.
